Q. Why is it called as “Zero Maintenance’ battery?
Ans. HBL PLT “IGNITE” battery is a sealed system “that does not require any toping up” of electrolyte or specific gravity checks. There is no following electrolyte and hene no spillage of battery acid. There is also no corrosion or sulphation of battery terminals, thus making it truly 100% maintenance free battery.
Q. How is 135 Ah conventional flooded battery and IG 800 HBL PLT “IGNITE” battery equivalent?
Ans. Due to PLT thin plate technology used in HBL PLT “IGNITE”, GRID size (plate thickness ) is less than 1 mm as against a grid thickness of 4 to 5 mm in conventional battery and hence current. The cranking capacity is directly proportional to the surface are of active material which is two and half times to three times more for of active material which is two and half times to three time more for thin plate HBL PLT “IGNITE” battery as compared to conventional battery.
